The 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artiste of the Year, Stonebwoy, known in real life as Livingstone Etse Satekla, has said the Award has given him a bigger responsibility.
According to the artiste, this is the period to milk every opportunity to impress his fans since demand for his music will rise.
“It’s a bigger responsibility now and demand is going to be doubled, which will bring much attention on me,” he said this during an interview on Hitz FM.
Stonebwoy was crowned Artiste of the Year at the 16th edition of the Awards which were held at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The artiste beat off stiff competition from Daddy Lumba, Guru, Edem, MzVee, Sarkodie, and Samini to win the award.
The ‘Baafira’ hit singer explained that the award has given him the opportunity to execute his intended plans.
“There are a lot of things in the pipeline, therefore Ghanaians should expect better things,” he insisted.
He then used the opportunity to show his appreciation to industry players who supported him throughout his work, saying “It’s been a long time coming and I want to use this opportunity to thank people who have witnessed the struggle from day one, especially to Samini and his manager who have showed a lot of maturity.”
