Press Conference: What the Police said about Ada’s incident

Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Afia Tenge said at a press conference in Accra today to detail the press about the findings of their investigations on Ada that the Police is hunting for the three other suspects involved in the incident. 18 year old painter has been arrested.

Addressing a press conference, ASP Afia Tenge confirmed the arrest of the one, saying “There have been several developments regarding this issue that has prompted the Police to arrest one person by name Nelson Williams alias Iddrisu, aged 18, profession: painter and a resident of Abossey Okai whose arrest was made about 10 pm same day. The suspect has denied sexually assaulting the lady and that anything that happened on the said date indeed happened with the consent of the victim.”ASP Afia Tenge said “the victim is presently in a traumatic condition” she was “unable to tell the Police her side of the story. The Police will have the opportunity to interrogate her further for a clearer picture of the incident after she has been examined both physically and mentally”

ASP Tenger further assured that the Police will apprehend all suspects involved in the incident.
