Had it not been for the erratic supply of electrical power that continues to torment every living soul in Ghana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would have cemented itself as the only political party that has transformed Ghana into an European country, Koku Anyidoho has observed.
The Deputy General Secretary of NDC made the above remark in an interview with Peace FM during the station’s midday news bulletin.
Mr. Anyidoho claims that the NDC administration has brought a major facelift to Ghana and it can be seen in the massive road constructions that are taking place within the few years the party has been in office.
“Last time I used the off road of Madina and it has been well re-constructed. I even thought I was driving on the streets of a foreign country. You can see the solar light system installed by the side of the road. That tells you that a lot of work has been done countrywide,” he said.
Ghana, according to Mr. Anyidoho, has seen major development and this has silenced critics of government.
He pointed out that members of the opposition New Patriotic Party have now toned down when it comes to attacking the Mahama led government over the bad nature of the Nsawam-Suhum Road.
“If you have realized, the NPP has ceased talking about the NDC abandoning the roads linking Accra to Kumasi. They used to sit on Peace FM and say President Mahama is wicked and wants to kill passengers who ply the road but they have suddenly stop because they have seen the magnitude of change on the road,” he said.
However, Mr. Anyidoho admits that despite the change they have brought, their achievements have been overshadowed by darkness as a result of ‘dumsor’.
“‘Dumsor’ has overshadowed every good thing we have done and we all know that nothing can thrive in darkness. When you live in darkness, it is extremely difficult to trumpet your achievements,” he candidly said.
