7 simple ways to be a gentleman in the 21st century

Unless you’re showing her a video you’ve been talking about, be polite and put your phone in your pocket.

Don’t lead a girl on

If you’re not feeling a girl, that’s fine, it happens. The worst thing you can do is let her believe a relationship is going somewhere when there’s no chance that it will. Let her know you don’t think it’ll work out. It will hurt at first, but it’s better than digging a hole.

Be confident, not cocky

Ladies still want a man who is strong in spirit. It’s hot for a guy to be sure of himself and be proud of his interests, even if it’s something like an action figure collection that he thinks is lame to girls.

Actually plan a date

If you really want to impress a girl, put a little more effort into it than asking if she wants to “hang out.” Think about an activity she will enjoy and buy tickets ahead of time. Her mind will be blown.

Call her

Did you know that even with everything else you can do on your phone, you can still make calls? Even if you’re a master of emojis, pick up the phone to ask her out on a date or, here’s an idea, just to chat. Hearing someone’s voice means so much more than reading some text.

Pick her up

If you’re going out, don’t go through that awkward “I’m here, are you here?” texting situation. Unless you are meeting a Tinder or OKCupid date for the first time, pick her up at her place.

Open doors

Car doors, restaurant doors, all kinds of doors are waiting for you to open. It’s classic, it’s polite, and it’s just plain easy, yet it’s not as common as it should be.
