Former President Jerry John Rawlings has expressed dissatisfaction at the numerous attacks on personalities involved in organizing the #Dumsormuststop vigil.
The former President says attacks on the organisers, especially Yvonne Nelson are unwarranted.
“When I hear of these attacks, it forces sharp pains through my heart…,” he said when former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah paid a courtesy call on him.
The celebrities have been subjected to several attacks, both verbal and on social media, following the declaration of their intent to hold a vigil against the energy crisis.
While a former spokesperson of the National Hajj Committee Alhaji Halidu Haruna described the organizers including the female personalities as prostitutes, an NDC sympathizer, Appiah Stadium also threatened Yvonne Nelson.
Alhaji Halidu has since apologised.
The #Dumsor vigil is set to be held on May 16, 2015.
