Final year student of KNUST dies in accident

stoolA final-year Environmental Science student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) last Sunday dawn met his untimely death when he fell off his motorbike.

Raymond Atobiga Boabil, who just completed his four-year study at KNUST, was said to have hit his chest against the pavement in the accident.

The incident was said to have occurred around the KNUST Junction.

Eyewitness

Ray, as he was affectionately called by his mates, got involved in the accident moments after submitting his project work.

According to an eyewitness, it took some time before a good samaritan rushed him to the KNUST Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It is still not clear what caused the accident since according to the eyewitness, Ray was not speeding.

Confirmation

When contacted, the Assistant Registrar of KNUST in charge of University Relations, Mr Vincent A. Ankamah-Lomotey, could not confirm the incident.

He explained that the university was currently on vacation and that the school was yet to be informed about the incident.
