Asantehene destools Pakyi Chief

otumfuo_osei_tutu_2014Nana Mensah Bonsu, the chief of Pakyi Number One, near Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, has been destooled.

His overlord, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II destooled him on Thursday at a gathering of Asanteman chiefs.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu found Nana Mensah Bonsu guilty of instigating the youth of Pakyi Number Two to cause trouble in the area.

The irate youth reportedly thwarted efforts by Nana Kyei Aduakwa, Pakyi Number Two chief to develop his area.

The commotion caused by the youth of Pakyi Number Two reportedly stalled development in the area.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II said he stands for development so could not work with Nana Mensah Bonsu.

Otumfuo’s action came as a huge surprise to the dejected chief who stood before the Asantehene at a gathering of Asanteman chiefs at the Manhyia Palace on Thursday.

Nana Mensah Bonsu was speechless while Asantehene delivered his verdict, DAILY GUIDE gathered.
