Dr Maurice Ampaw, the lawyer of the woman, said the formal complaint made at DOVVSU two days ago was to enable them to pursue the criminal case against the Black Stars Captain.
He said his client had also served notice that she was preparing to sue Gyan for failing to take responsibility for her 12-week pregnancy.
Ms Kwablah, Dr Ampaw said, was contemplating suing Gyan either at the Family Tribunal or the High Court for not taking up maintenance responsibility after allegedly impregnating her.
Fresh charges
“Sarah is alleging to have taken some video of the sexual encounter with the consent of Gyan and she will be producing that as evidence,” he said.
He said she claimed that later when she went to her bathroom, Gyan wanted to have sex with her again and even though she protested, the striker forcibly had sex with her through the anus.
“That is a criminal act. Sodomy is criminal and we have reported it to the police to investigate. We will also be making a legal argument for maintenance at the court,” Dr Ampaw said.
Although Gyan has not denied having sexual intercourse with Ms Kwablah, his lawyer, Dr Kissi Agyabeng, and the player’s manager, Mr Samuel Anim Addo, reported a case of an attempt by Sarah to publish a video of their sexual rendezvous to the Odorkor Police.
Demands
Explaining the reason to pursue the matter legally, Dr Ampaw said, “we want the court to determine how much should be given to my client and any other reliefs she will be asking for”.
Ms Kwablah is reported to have demanded a fully furnished apartment, a paid house help and a $1,000 monthly stipend from Gyan.
Lawyers for the Al Ain striker have described her demands as outrageous.
However, Mr Ampaw explained that his client was making the demand because her parents, who had rented a three-bedroom apartment for her and were supporting her with a monthly stipend of $700, had threatened to withdraw the support because she had got herself pregnant.
He said his client’s parents had said they were not ready to renew her tenancy and “that is why she is asking Gyan to pay the rent for the next nine months until she undergoes the DNA test to determine the paternity of the child, as requested by Gyan”.
GH¢2,000 paid
When the Daily Graphic contacted the Odorkor District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police Mr Abraham Acquaye, last Wednesday, he said Sarah had denied having a video of their sexual encounter “and that there was no mention of rape or sodomy against Gyan”.
He said the case was amicably resolved after Gyan had agreed to give Ms Kwablah a monthly amount of GH¢2,000 for her ante-natal care until a DNA test determined the paternity of the foetus.
On May 22, 2015 Gyan’s lawyer, Mr Agyabeng, handed over the GH¢2,000 to the Odorkor Police and the money had since been given to Sarah’s lawyer, Dr Ampaw.
Yesterday, Dr Ampaw said “that money will be used as evidence of admission of payment. If Gyan claims he is not responsible for the pregnancy, then why would he go ahead to make the payment. We will be using that money as evidence in court”.
