“Takoradi made me” – Guru recounts as he spends time with Tadi fans

wpid-guru11-640x528“I remember in 2008, I was underground and nobody knew me. It was a show at Last Hour Beach and I was given the opportunity to perform. That was when I believed in the Guru brand because Takoradi people hailed me like a big star who was already known” Guru recounts and expresses his profound gratitude to Takoradi, nicknamed Oil City.

Guru visited Takoradi over the weekend and his visit to the Oil City was purely to spend time with his fans in the Metropolis. On the weekly OC Showbiz on Skyy Power FM in Takoradi, Guru announced his presence in the city and had an up-close-and-personal interview with the host, Nana Kwame.

On Saturday night, Guru, together with his Manager, Ray Moni and other team members visited the beach and other popular places in the Oil City, taking pictures with fans and answering some rather personal questions from them.

Speaking to this Reporter, Guru posited, “Takoradi fans are very real and I’m not saying this because I’m here. When they accept you, they have really accepted you and they will never let you down. You can listen to most of my interviews I’ve granted and you will hear that I keep mentioning Takoradi as the place that made, Takoradi made me.”

Guru who says this will not be the last time he will share time with the ‘real’ fans of Takoradi announced that, he is organizing a competition for his fans who can sing his new song ‘Nyame tua woka.’ In the competition, fans are to video themselves singing ‘Nyame tua wo ka’ and tag him on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube). Winners of the competition would receive mobile phones, cash, t-shirts etc.
