Sekondi Youth Center used as faeces dumping grounds

ghana-sekondi-takoradi-oil-fish_10537-700x357Residents of Abease in the Yensuado electoral area in Sekondi have conveniently turn the Sekondi Regional Youth Center into grounds for dumping their fecal matter. Sections of the center have been littered with black polythene bags filled with stool.

The Sekondi Regional Youth Center is among initiatives by government aimed at giving the youth an assembling point to exhibit their talents. In the early 1990 the Honorable E.T Mensah commissioned a renovated center.

The center has had it glory days. However over the years the center has been largely neglected. This section that was commissioned by E.T Mensah has collapsed. Worse, it is overgrown with weeds and littered with refuse. Perhaps the residents of Abease who live close to this section have realized that the center has been left unkempt.

But Metro Youth Director Joseph Appiah says the center has not been neglected. He says they have issued several warning to the residents to stop but all to no avail. Mr. Appiah mentions they have decided to take any culprit to court.
