Major shake-up in Police hierarchy

670725039_509354There has been a major shake-up within the top hierarchy of the Ghana Police Service.

A statement signed by the Acting Inspector General of Police John Kudalor Friday stated that COP Rose Bio Atinga, Director-General/ Administration is now the Director General, Research and Planning at the National Police Headquarters.

COP/Mr. Prosper Kwame Agblor is now the Director General/ CID National Headquarters while DCOP/Mr. Ransford Ninson, Regional Commander/CR has moved to Director General/Medics, National Police HQ/ Accra.

The changes which take effect December 1, has affected as many as 29 people at the top hierarchy of the administration.

Other changes include COP David Asante Apeatu who was Director General Research, is now Director General ICT, National HQ.

Director General of the Motor Traffic Department, DCOP Angwubutoge Awuni is now the Eastern Regional Police Commander while COP Seidu Mohamadu Zakaria who was Director/Hospital now becomes the Director General Medics at the National Police HQ, Accra.

Director General Public Affairs, DCOP Nenyi Ampah Benin will now head the Police Investigations and Professional Standards Bureau (PIPS).

Superintendent Cephas Arthur has also now been confirmed as the Director of Public Affairs.
