I’ve regretted campaigning for Prez. Mahama – Leila Djansi

Some persons in the entertainment industry who campaigned for President John Dramani Mahama ahead of the 2012 elections are now waking up to reality.

With less than a year to go to the next elections, some have started expressing grave disappointment in the level of incompetence in the Mahama administration in steering the affairs of the nation.

Latest to join the list of disappointed persons, who campaigned for Mahama, is movie producer/director Leila Afua Djansi.

Early yesterday morning, the lady, who like many others, could no more bear the hardship under the Mahama regime, took to social media to vent her anger and frustration.

It appears she had no water to bath and could not hide her frustrations, even though government propagandists claim that there is excess in water supply to every household.

She posted on her Facebook page, “Good morning from John Mahama’s Ghana!! Multiple days without water. Last week we had to call the company head to have taps opened.”

 Regret

In the heat of her frustration, the celebrated movie producer stated, “I so regret campaigning for NDC, although I have no vote in Ghana. I lost friends, someone threatened to burn down my office in Ghana cos I was NDC.

In the face of all these untold hardships, she therefore could not fathom why government could waste a whopping GH¢3.6 million on the rebranding of 116 Metro Mass buses, which has since emerged that it was a fraud perpetrated on Ghanaians.

“But they have money to give to a less qualified individual to brand buses. Buses we brand at no less than GH¢5,000 per bus were branded for GH¢30,000. That money could have been used to improve the water-flow system in the country. Beds for hospitals… This is the Ghana you get when selfish people thrive. When they give only to their family members. Clothe themselves in material things so they can be worshiped. So shameful! And everyone has forgotten that the young woman in question hasn’t returned the money and hasn’t even been prosecuted,” she noted with pain and anxiety.

Momentarily, her Facebook wall became like a beehive, attracting a lot of commentaries, with some liking and sharing her post.

Some wondered whether she had a beef with actress Selassie Ibrahim, Manager of Smarttys Productions, which was given the controversial contract under very bizarre circumstances to rebrand those Metro Mass buses.  The scandal caused the resignation of Transport Minister Dzifa Aku Attivor.

She could not but burst out, “I haven’t showered. My 70-yr-old mum is out there with a bucket looking for water. I am fcking pissed. Then I remember cruel people like Selassie and co!”

To those who found fault with her post, she had this to tell them, “So cos I love my husband when he steals from a widow I must support him? When you love someone, u correct them when they’re wrong. That’s how you build a nation. Not support blindly cos of tribe or race or how much they pay u.”
