vice-meets-anas-aremeyaw-anas-1432325939Ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in an exclusive interview with a source has revealed how he has never liked the game of football.

Asked about his favourite football club, the undercover journalist opened up on his hate for what is described by most as the beautiful game. Anas even goes to the extent of avoiding the stadium when he was supposed to cover a football game in Germany.

International journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas toldPulse.com.gh:

“I don’t like saying this but I hate football. I have never liked it. I don’t understand why people get so worked up when their teams…. so the only time you see me watching football is when Ghana is playing another country and perhaps I have colleagues and they have sent me messages because I have to reply to them so I have to know the score, but I am not a football person.

“It was so bad, that I remember Ghana was playing in Germany and I was in Germany and was supposed to report I went to the stadium and I stayed outside the stadium and wrote my story from outside the stadium because football is just not it for me. I don’t get it.

“I would always pick basketball over football…the only thing perhaps I enjoy when it comes to football is its history and mysticism when it comes to Africa and the footballers and what they do.”

Anas Aremeyaw Anas said he would read about them and ‘have a good laugh’.

He further explained how he had never been to a stadium for a football game saying:

In my entire life I have never been to the Accra sports stadium to watch football before. Neither have I been to any other stadium to watch.

“He had only been to one stadium when he was at school.”

The Ghanaian journalist despite his hate for the game of football refused to rule out investigating corruption in football if he thought there was something to investigate.
