Céline Marie Claudette Dion, a Canadian singer, songwriter, businesswoman and occasional actress greeted thousands of mourners who showed up to pay their last respect of her husband Rene Angelil .at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal.
Celine Dion, 47, arrived at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Old Montreal hand-in-hand with her children to say their final goodbyes to husband and manager of 22 years, Rene Angelil.
The singer passed away at age 73 on Jan. 14, and Celine’s pain was clear as she entered the same church where they got married.
After a private memorial service for friends and family members, Dion stood by an open casket for seven hours to receive well-wishes and condolences.
Angélil was be laid to rest on Friday January 22.
A national funeral was held at the same church, the Notre-Dame Basilica, where Dion and her husband were married in 1994.
The funeral was streamed live around the world.
