Petroleum Minister denies GHc55,000 spending on Samini performance

1.8528604The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ellembelle, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has debunked claims that he spent Gh? 55,000.00 on Samini’s musical performance in his constituency last year.

The MP hosted Dancehall Artiste, Samini at AYA community centre at Ekwe, a town in the Western region, during the festive season.

There have been claims that Mr Buah, who is the Petroleum Minister, spent an amount of Gh? 55,000.00 on the artiste.

But according to a statement from the office of the MP, the artiste’s visit was to support his friend (the MP) in some developmental projects he has started in the constituency.

“The Ellembelle district has over the years undergone major transformation under the leadership of Mr Buah. The community centre, where the performance took place is one of the projects,” the statement read.

The facility is said to have a day care centre made to house elderly people in the Constituency and to promote and encourage healthcare and wellbeing of the people of Nzema.

Samini donated cloths to some elderly people he met while he was there.

The MP believes that celebrities like Samini have a positive role to play in the development of the country including the Ellembelle District.
