CHELSEA have spoken to Eden Hazard about his need to rediscover his form after a poor season, Guus Hiddink has revealed.
After lighting up the Premier League in 2014-15, being named Player of the Year for his part in the Blues’ title triumph, the Belgium international has scored only one goal for the club this time around.
“He was in a difficult situation but he has to step up,” Hiddink told reporters. “He knows that from our talks with him.”
Hazard has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge in the summer and has expressed an interest in working with Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane but the Chelsea boss is adamant that there is “no sign [that] he’s eager to go”.
“I had very short conversations with him about the situation,” Hiddink continued. “He is very keen to be here.”
