British-born Ghanaian Presenter Nayoka Oware (born Nana Asiedu), is a Journalism graduate, former Miss Ghana UK runner up and current co-host of radio show Prime Time on Afrobeat 94FM. She is also the founder, producer and co-editor of The Journey (online channel).
Recently shortlisted for the Red Bull TV Daily Magazine show, her presenting credits include hosting guests such as Fiona Bruce MP, Afro-pop singer Iyanya, Peter Ellis, the CEO of Richard House Children’s Hospice, Afrobeat, Afro Pop, Afro Hip hop and hi-life artist’s Sarkodie, Fuse ODG, Mr Eazi, D-Black, Bisa Kdei, founder of Hip-Life Reggie Rockstone and more. She is also known for covering events such as AFWL (Africa Fashion Week London), The Ghana UK Based Achievement Awards (GUBA), Ms Curvaceous UK and His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama’s official visit to the UK to meet with David Cameron, British PM.
After volunteering with Voice of Africa Radio, her dynamism, passion for innovation and courage landed her a full-time presenting position on VOAR, 94FM for the Community Affairs radio show, an educational programme concerning social activities, the youth, enrichment programmes and developments in London. She also co-hosts the Saturday Prime Time Radio show, also on VOAR, 94FM . Nayoka is the executive producer of The Journey, which over the years, has accrued a large following. The Journey, a captivating, entertaining and engaging online show, was founded by Nayoka in 2012 with the intention of inspiring the masses by documenting interviews that recount the trial to triumph experiences of entrepreneurs, civil servants, artist’s and more. The Journey also profiles individual personalities who have excelled in their various professions.The message communicated by guests is “my journey was challenging, but I have accomplished my dream/s and you can too!” The show includes interviews with the general public (vox-pops), on various pressing issues that are affecting society.
