18-yr-old arbiter meets untimely death

A genuine attempt of an 18-year old senior high school student to separate two men who were fighting over a lady has resulted in his untimely death.

The deceased, Isaac Kwesi Amponsah, a student of the Opoku Ware Senior High School, was stabbed in the neck when he went in to separate two rivals engaged in a brawl, The Finder has gathered.

The suspect, Justine Abban, 32, a driver, who hails from Saltpond in the Central Region, was engaged in a fight with one Frank Kwabena Owusu, a.k.a. Taller, when the deceased tried to broker peace between the two.

Confirming the incident to The Finder, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Effia Tenge, Public Relations Officer of the Accra Region Police Command, stated that the incident took place at Oshuiman, a suburb of Amasaman, at about 6.30am yesterday.

The Finder gathered that the suspect chased the deceased and stabbed him in the neck.

According to her, the police got the information at about 8am and proceeded to the scene. On arrival, they rushed the victim to the Police Hospital but he was pronounced dead.

However, the victim was subjected to beatings from a mob that held him down till the police arrived.

The lady at the centre of the scuffle and Frank are currently at large. The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Police Hospital.
