Son of late comedian, Samuel Kwadwo Boabeng known in showbiz circles as Bishop Bob Okala is appealing to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts to honour the memory of the popular comedian by erecting his statue at the National Theatre .
Kofi Adams Buabeng told Atinka News that his father was the best comedian before his death, adding that he was the one who revived the stand –up comedy industry in the country.
According to him, his father contributed immensely to the patronage of the National National Theater in the early nineties due to his outstanding performance on stage and that erecting a statue in his honour at the country’s leading entertainment venue would not be out of place.
Kofi Adams said his Dad was loved by everyone, adding that, at home, he was the same person as he did on stage .
Recounting his father’s early days on stage, Kofi Adama said he was often mocked at school because of his father’s profession, adding that his school mates often described his father as a fool.
“But my dad encouraged me to be strong and told me that, his job was lucrative and that I should take solace in that”, he said.
