Executive of Fantse Students Union-Ghana (Fansu-Gh) by extension members of the Union and tertiary students of Fantse descent have registered their deep disappointment and displeasure with the current NDC Government, particularly those officials of Fante descent.
According to the Union, the mantra “Adze wo fie a, Oye” that was trumpeted at the time of canvassing for votes was only a deceptive vehicle to propel those Fantes who are officials in NDC government to occupy offices for their selfish and parochial political interest.
In a press release copied to Peacefmonline.com is indicating that the deliberate neglect of the welfare and wellbeing of Fantses who mobilized, campaigned and voted for them is nothing short of heart crushing.
The Union stressed that the Fantse officials in this NDC Government have abused and patronized the trust and love the people had in them with the mind-set that their interest lies in progress and development of the motherland.
The Union however is blaming Fantse Government officials such as Paa Kwesi B Amissah-Arthur (Vice President of Ghana), Hon. Ebo Burton Oduro (1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament), Hon. Ato Forson (MP, Deputy Finance Minister), Hon. Hannah Serwaa Tetteh (Min. for Foreign Affairs), the Ahwoi brothers and others who have sat unconcerned to see the collapse of the Cape Coast Polytechnic.

Total Disappointment In Fantes In Government-Fansu-Gh Declares
We write at the instance of Executives of Fantse Students Union, and by extension members of the Union and tertiary students of Fantse decent, to register our deep disappointment and displeasure with the current NDC Government, particularly those officials of Fantse descent.
It has become increasingly clear that the “Adze wo fie a, Oye” mantra that was trumpeted at the time of canvassing for votes was only a deceptive vehicle, to propel them to office. We feel very disheartened, that our love for the motherland and collect aspiration to use progress and development in the land, was abused and patronized for the selfish and parochial political interest of Fantse officials in this government.
The deliberate neglect of the welfare and wellbeing of Fanstes who mobilized, campaigned and voted for them is nothing short of heart crushing.
After comprehensive deliberations at our recent executive meeting, we outlined the following reasons, that has elicited this action; and we do this in demand of answers.
Fantse Government officials (high ranking) such as Paa Kwesi.B. Amissah-Arthur( Vice President of Ghana), Hon. Ebo Burton Oduro ( 1st Deputy Speaker Of Parliament), Hon Ato Forson (MP,Deputy Minister of Finance) , Hon. Hanna Serwaa Tetteh (Min. for Foreign Affairs), the Ahwoi brothers, and others have sat on their hands, unconcerned whiles their government advances plans of COLLAPSING Cape Coast Polytechnic.
After several efforts of pleadings and advocacy with these officials, we find it unacceptable that the entire Central Region has not passport office, or any outlet of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, mandated for the issuance of National Passports. It must be noted, with great sorrow, that despite many promises and assurances by our own kin, The Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs, and MP for Awutu Senya- West constituency Hon. Hannah Serwaa Tetteh, no efforts have been made to redeem the promises.
We are reliably informed that our Vice President, H.E Amissah Arthur has issued a strong warning to his special aide, Mr. James Agyenim Boateng and other staff in his office not to allow anybody from his home town, Moree or Cape Coast to see him (Mr. Vice President) personally in office. We ask why? Are we now his enemies? Our Vice President, Mr. Amissah Arthur has some obdurate anti-fantse spirit that drives his on kin away from him. He normally use the term “ofie abayifo” meaning, “home witches” anytime a Fantse visits his office. We ask, who are these witches?
We have made several attempts to draw attention to the embarrassing proportion of unemployed youth among our kin, the high cost of living and of healthcare, inter alai, but our leaders; representative of our aspirations, have closed their ears and minds to us. They are always very quick to cite the uncompleted sports Stadium and Kotokoraba Market, which they shamefully forget that these ORDINARY projects were commenced by Former President Kuffuor and our Late Father, Prof. Evans Atta Mills. How do we patronize markets when we do not have the means? How do we access stadiums when there are no means to pay gate fees? Is this your idea of changing lives? And Transforming Ghana?
We conclude by reminding them that, patriarchs have served us and served us well. Some went out of their way, to pay fees, maternal healthcare, feed the poor, etc. they must remember and follow in the prestigious steps of these patriarchs.
This action has become necessary, because it has been impossible to reach them privately. By this action, we hope our pleas will reach them, otherwise, we’ll advice ourselves come Nov/Dec 7th.
A word to the wise is enough. ( Oba nyasafo wobu no b3 )
