Mr Robert Jackson, Ambassador of the U.S to Ghana made this known when he paid a courtesy call on Mr Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Employment and Labour Relations in Accra today.

Mr Jackson also discussed with the minister the need for Ghana to continue to the advantage of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) an initiative of the U S government, to expand exports, especially, targeting the textiles

He said the Dignity Textiles, a hundred percent Ghanaian firm, exporting to the US market deserved government urgent support.

Mr Iddrisu welcomed the US support and gave the assurance that the ministry was in the process of working through the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) to recruit about 1,000 to 2,000 head porters (Kayaye) to be trained in the textile related industry.
