A physically challenged man, Stephen Agape Quainoo, 22, has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping an 18-year-old junior high school student at Winneba in the Central Region.
Quainoo allegedly lured the victim into his room after repairing her mobile phone and with the aid of his cousin, forcibly had canal knowledge of her.
His 19-year-old cousin identified as Caleb Armah aka Kobina Takyi, a student who allegedly assisted his cousin to rape the victim, has also been arrested.
The two have provisionally been charged for conspiracy and rape and are being prepared for court.
Confirming the incident to DAILY GUIDE, Superintendent Godfrey Tetteh Adjirakor, Winneba District Police Commander, corroborated the story, adding that it occurred on April 16, 2016 but the suspects were arrested on May 18.
According to Superintendent Adjirakor, Stephen Quianoo and Caleb Armah share the same room at Osakem, Winneba.
The commander narrated that the victim said when she was coming to collect her mobile phone Caleb used his hand to cover her mouth and pushed her onto an old mattress on the floor, and Quainoo, who could not walk without his clutches, jumped on her, undressed her and had canal knowledge of her.
Caleb, according to the victim also wanted to have sex with her but she was able to push him away and shouted for help.
Some of the co-tenants who heard the victim’s screams rushed in to rescue her.
Caleb was arrested the same day the incident occurred but Quianoo managed to escape and was later arrested.
