Wisa is ‘missing’ – Lawyer tells court

wisa-1-848x478-640x361Hiplife musician, Eugene Ashe, aka Wisa, who is standing trial for allegedly displaying his genitals at a public musical show, is said to have gone ‘missing’, after failing to appear in court for the second consecutive time.

This revelation was made in court by his lawyer Jerry Avernogbor, who claims he has not seen or heard from his client for about a month now after their last communication.

He said in that communication, Wisa’s mother informed him that the accused had been vomiting and as such was unable to attend court during the last sitting.

According to the lawyer, he could not deceive the court about his client’s whereabouts hence the revelation. The court presided over by her Worship, Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku, issued a bench warrant for his arrest and adjourned the case to the 13th of July 2016.

Wisa has been charged with indecent exposure for allegedly exposing his penis while performing at the Accra International Conference Centre on December 24, 2016. He has since pleaded not guilty and is on a GH? 8,000 bail with one surety. Wisa escapes bench warrant again This is the third time the Court has had to issue a bench warrant for his arrest. The ‘Ekiki Me’ singer escaped a similar bench warrant on two occasions.

His lawyer had earlier told the court that Wisa was also not around because of some medical issues, hence he prayed the Court to rescind the bench warrant against his client. “My Lord we are on our knees begging to rescind the bench warrant so my client could go and prepare for the case. We assure the court that never again would this happen,” he added.
