Daughter collapses to death on the way to father’s funeral service

IMG-20160711-WA0004-432x330 (1)It may seem weird and unbelievable, but that is the fate that has befallen a family at Sekondi in the Western Region.

Selina Mensah, A.K.A Maame Ekua Akraba, 24, had stopped a Taxi together with her Mum Josephine Amoah, also known as Maame Esi number 4 at Mempeasem, a suburb of Sekondi to take them to St Marks Anglican church at Essikado where a Thanksgiving Service for her late father Robert Mensah, 57, was being held on Sunday, July, 3, 2016, a day after the burial when she suddenly collapsed in the process of boarding the Taxi.

She was rushed to the Essikado Government Hospital by the Mother in the same Taxi but was pronounced dead soon upon arrival.

Recounting the tragedy to Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson of Skyy Power FM, the Sorrow and anguish-striken mother said what even surprises her was that, her daughter was in a normal mood and didn’t show any sign of being indisposed.

According to the mother, she was in the house together with the daughter getting ready to attend the Thanksgiving service when the daughter had a call from some friends who had arrived at the church grounds to sympathise with her around 11am.

They had dressed up and were heading towards the Church Premises when the unfortunate happened.

The rest of the funeral rites for the late Husband and father on sunday continued amidst mourning of the daughter but without the widow and her immediate family.

She will be buried at the weekend in SekondiIMG-20160711-WA0002
