The incident occurred at 8:24 p.m. and it was at 11:36 p.m. that Nana Addo and his team decided on a detour.
They, therefore, had to return to Gambaga to use an alternative route to Walewale through Kparigu.
Some other commuters who were also using the same stretch of the road had to get off their buses and embark on the rest of the journey on foot.
Some of the journalists on the campaign tour also joined other commuters to walk through the thick mud to Walewale.
Later on, a grader was brought in to grade some parts of the road to make it motorable for the vehicles in the convoy and commercial vehicles that were using the road.
Other heavy duty vehicles and articulated trucks were also stuck in the mud.
It takes less than an hour to travel from Gambaga to Walewale; however, due to the poor nature of the road, vehicles spend more than one-and-a- half hours on the road.
Nana Addo was returning from Nalerigu to Walewale when his convoy got stuck in the mud.
