THE senior national soccer team, the Black Stars, will play a FIFA international friendly match against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on October 11, 2016 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
The South African Football Association has confirmed the international friendly game on their official website which reads “Bafana Bafana will face the Black Stars of Ghana (Tuesday, 11 October) in an international friendly match that will be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban”.
The Ghana Football Association was yet to confirm Ghana’s participation when contacted by The Finder but sources said an official press release will be out soon.
The Black Stars will face the Cranes of Uganda on October 7, 2016 at the Tamale Sports Stadium in Ghana’s first game of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Egypt takes on Congo in the other group.
Avram Grant will be returning to Ghana later this week and is expected to name the full squad for the two ties against Uganda and South Africa.
The South Africa game will be a preparation for the Stars ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier against Egypt in November.
South Africa takes on The Stallions (Les Etalons) in the opening match of the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Qualifiers on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Stade Du 4 Aout in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
