Gay Teacher in remands

Teacher33-640x406THE DISTRICT magistrate court at Atebubu in the Brong-Ahafo Region has remanded a 31-year-old suspected gay teacher, Joshua Baayi Binbi, into police custody to reappear on October 4, 2016.

He allegedly attempted to sodomize, a 19-year-old senior high school student he met and chatted with onFacebook.

The district police commander, Chief Superintendent Joseph Atsu Dzinaku, confirmed this to DAILY GUIDE in a telephone interview.

According to the commander, Joshua Baayi met the SHS 2 male student (name and school withheld) on Facebookand became friends. Joshua later proposed to have anal sex with the victim and invited him to his house. Due to the strange invitation by Joshua, the victim also narrated the conversation to his brother and they both reported the case to the police. Because the police wanted to arrest the suspect, the victim was advised to also invite him (suspect) to his house for them to engage in the sodomy.

Last Saturday at about 7:20 pm the suspect went to the boy’s house and picked him to his house. In an attempt to have ‘sex’ with the student in his room, the police surfaced and arrested Joshua.

Chief Superintendent Joseph Dzinaku said during interrogation, Joshua told the police that he learnt the act from his foster father – a tutor in his SHS days in 2003, but blamed his behaviour on the devil.

According to the boy, the suspect promised to rent him a room if he would allow him to have ‘sex’ with him.

Joshua Baayi Binbi yesterday appeared before the Atebubu district magistrate court, presided over by Joseph Nasigri and was remanded into police custody to reappear on October 4, 2016.
