While some Americans were watching the Vice-Presidential debate Tuesday night, BET was celebrating a popular musical genre at the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards.

While the show was filmed back in September at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, fans at home were able to watch Travis Scott, T.I and other artists perform.

In addition, some of your favorite musicians were able to pick up some pretty impressive trophies in a wide variety of categories.
