FULL Document: Ayariga launches manifesto

AYADr Hassan Ayariga, flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), says he will make Senior High School education free and also fully restore allowances of teacher trainees, if voted into power.

Launching the party’s 2016 manifesto at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra on Thursday, 6 October, he disclosed that an APC government will “redefine” basic education to include Senior High School (SHS) and “make it available for free on a universal basis to all Ghanaian youth by 2019.

According to him, the Senior High School system will be restructured as a point of into the world of work and also as a preparatory stage for entry into tertiary institutions for technical, vocational, or agricultural training.

Vocational and Skill training will be further developed under the APC by the building of two state-of-the-art institutions and the upgrading and revamping of existing technical and vocational institutions to ensure that our workforce have world-class employable skills,” he noted.

Asking Ghanaians to brace up for a massive economic transformation if given the nod in the upcoming election, Mr Ayariga said; “The first transformation Ghanaians will witness is the transformation from the inability under the John Mahama’s NDC to stark performance under the APC.

APC joins the rank of two other political parties who have launched their manifesto in the line up to the 2016 polls.

The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) was the first to outdoor its manifesto followed by the NDC.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) had postponed the launched of its manifesto because it did not want the NDC to plagiarise the content, a claim government has refuted.

With 61 days to the presidential and parliamentary election, the NPP has settled on October 9 to make public its manifesto.

Dr Ayariga has invited the NPP to adopt some of his policies granted it would implement them the way he intends to.
