THE General Secretary of the of the governing National Democratic, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, says collated results by the party indicate the party’s flagbearer is cruising to victory.
“I must let you know our party, as part of process of checking validity of results, put in place results collation system and from the results of the collation we are confident NDC is cruising to victory,” Johnson Asiedu Nketia said told a press conference.
He was quick to condemn the NPP for its early victory declaration at dawn yesterday and accused the opposition party of trying to stampede the EC into declaring results.
The NPP declared itself winners and called on the president to concede defeat but the NDC has objected to the declaration.
“NPP should be called to order,” Asiedu Nketia said, adding, the party is not keeping to due process agreed at the Inter Party Advisory Committee.
Asiedu Nketia explained that the parties had agreed at IPAC that until the pink sheets of the various polling stations are brought, the party agents at the national EC office will not sign the results so announced at the various collation centres.
He said that may be the reason for the delay by the EC in releasing the results, adding the NDC remain committed to the due process and all agreement entered into at IPAC.
He also urged the EC to work diligently to provide results so everybody will know who is going to rule this country.
