Akufo-Addo’s condemnation of NPP hooliganism is ‘smokescreen’ – Asiedu Nketia

ASIEDU-NKETIA-GEN.-SECRETARY-NDCThe General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has scorned the state of the nation address delivered by President Akufo-Addo at Parliament, Tuesday February 21.

According to him, the president was unserious when he noted during his first State of the Nation Address that – he condemned all acts of misconduct by his party members during the transitional period.

Nana Addo told the House – “Wrongdoing has no political colour. And I do not subscribe to the lawlessness of political party supporters simply because their party has been elected into office.”

Commenting on the address, General Mosquito as affectionately called in politics said the president ‘deliberately’ left his followers to misbehave when the NDC raised several concern about their hooliganism.

The attempt to create the impression that he disliked the behaviour of his party people during the transitioning period is just a smokescreen. He thought that, let me leave them to deal with these people then later on I will come and make a statement. What prevented him [Prez Nana Addo] from making a statement when we [NDC] were calling on him?” he questioned.

Now that everything has cooled down, he is coming to make a statement,” he added.
