Amartey gets cameo in Leicester defeat, Asamoah benched

Daniel Amartery was given just two minutes of game time in Leicester City’s 2-1 loss to Sevilla while compatriot Kwadwo Asamoah watched from the bench as Juventus won 2-0 away at 10-man Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday night

Manager Claudio Ranieri’s Premier League champions suffered another cup defeat following the weekend’s elimination from the FA Cup but would hope for a better second leg having the advantage of an away goal.

The hosts missed a penalty before going into the lead via Pablo Sarabia in the 25th minute. They doubled their lead on 62 minutes courtesy of Joaquim Correa.

The Foxes clawed back through Jamie Vardy on 73 minutes but it was not enough as they would hope for better fortunes at home in a fortnight.

Juventus gave their quarter final hopes a massive boost with their 2-0 win at the Estadio do Dragao after the hosts lost a man as early as the 27th minute when Alex Telles picked up his second booking.

But the Old Lady had to wait till late in the second half for their goals via Marko Pjaca and Dani Alves.

Coach Massimiliano Allegri did not consider Asamoah for the game as the Ghanaian watched from the bench.
