Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt has denied reports that his private vehicle has been seized by NPP’s Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as ‘Abronye DC’.
Abronye has since the inception of the Nana Addo administration become the face behind the seizure of government vehicles from officials of the previous government.
The NPP Regional Youth Organizer has been leading a crusade to ensure that no government vehicle is taken away illegally by any individual who served under the erstwhile Mahama regime, and has been using every means to claim the vehicles from them.
Following this activity by ‘Abronye DC’, reports went viral that the seasoned journalist, Kwesi Pratt, has had his private vehicle seized by the NPP Youth Organizer.
According to the reports which begun to circulate yesterday, Mr. Pratt’s car was confiscated because it was found to belong to the government fleet of vehicles.
Speaking on Peace FM‘s Kokrokoo, Mr. Pratt expressed surprised by the report and wondered which faces were behind such rumors.
According to him, his vehicle has not be seized neither has he had any confrontation with Abronye.
He told host Kwami Sefa Kayi how the rumors developed, saying “it began from a Facebook account in the name of Adwoa Safo, MP and you’ll know that the account is fake when you look at it. Why will Adwoa Safo do that? What will motivate Adwoa Safo, a whole lawyer, to do something like this? I don’t believe it.”
Mr. Pratt cautioned the rumor-mongers to stop misleading people because his Toyota Land Cruiser (V8) remains with him and of course, he’s been cruising in town in the car.
“Nobody has come to my house. Abronye and I don’t have any issue. He hasn’t come to my house before. I don’t even know him,” he stressed.
