Director of PR for PURC resigns

107255023_496358The Director of Public Relations for the Public Utility Regulatory Commission (PURC), Nanayaa Jantuah has resigned.

This follows allegations of financial misappropriation by the leadership of the commission.

Nanayaa Jantuah and the Executive Secretary of the PURC, Samuel Sarpong were invited by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for interrogations into the allegations. According to reports, their passports have been seized.

According to a letter addressed to the Executive Director of the PURC, Samuel Sarpong, Nanayaa’s resignation will take effect from November 2017.

“I wish to resign from the Commission effective 11th November 2017. Prior to my resignation, I wish to take all outstanding leave which is accrued to me as a staff of the Commission starting from 4th of June 2017″ part of the letter stated.
