This ambition of Segua motivates her to resist her parents’ compulsion of giving her out for marriage at the age of 13. She flees from the house and is being pursued by her step brothers to bring her back home for the planned marriage.

Alongside films like ‘IVIEME,’ ‘BITTER SWEET WINE,’ ‘DABARA’ and ‘BROKEN,’ Running is tipped by many as the obvious winner in this category.

Jumic Emma Anderson, the Creative head behind the film said, “I am personally very sensitive to children related issues, maybe because I’ve been a pupil teacher before. I see in their eyes the deepest wisdom of life that is mostly neglected in our part of the world. So when Joseph Otsiman, a 2016 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) nominee, who played the role of ETUR (starring) and also the producer of RUNNING, one day approached me with a story about Child Marriage, I instantly Loved the idea and just had to interperate that onto the screen”,

Running will be screening in Egypt this August and September.

Golden Movie Awards 2017, will be held on Saturday 22nd at the Movenpick Ambassador’s hotel in Accra 9pm.
