Real Madrid and Monaco ‘agree £160m fee for Kylian Mbappe’

MbappeOne of this summer’s biggest transfer sagas could be coming to an end. Marca report that Monaco and Real Madrid have agreed a €180million (£160million) fee for Kylian Mbappe, a deal that would make the teenager the world’s most expensive player.

Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool have been among those interested in the 18-year-old. But Los Blancos, who as Telegraph Sport reported made a bid for the striker as early as May this year, may have won the race for the starlet in a monster deal.

Our man Jeremy Wilson reported last week that the Gunners had given up on trying to sign Mbappe and will instead focus efforts on bringing in Thomas Lemar, also of Monaco.

Meanwhile, Renato Sanches could join Manchester United this summer, but the door has been closed on Arturo Vidal, according to Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti has admitted there is a “possibility” that United will sign Sanches, a player the club missed out on before Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford.

Mourinho is a known fan of the Portuguese youngster and said that had he been United manager at the time of their pursuit, the club would not have missed out on signing him.

Sanches joined Bayern but has failed to hold down a regular first-team spot. Bayern’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has indicated the player is now available for £43m.

“He won’t get enough minutes at Bayern, so we’re willing to negotiate a loan deal and maybe beyond that,” Rummenigge  told Tuttomercatoweb.

“If a club are interested in a Bayern player, they must be ready to deal with significant economic figures. We’ll say that it wouldn’t be bad if a £43m offer came in for him.”

AC Milan are also keen on Sanches, but Ancelotti has suggested a move to United could yet happen.

When asked about a possible deal between both clubs, the former Real Madrid manager said: “At this time, he’s training with us. We have to make a decision. A move could be a possibility but there is also a chance he could stay with us for the season.

“For Vidal, there is no way [he will move to United]. He’s our player and I have a lot of confidence in him.

“I know there are rumours and we’re used to rumours. He’ll stay with us 100 per cent – I’m confident about that.”

The Independent reports that Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez is willing to take a pay cut in order to move to Manchester City.

Bayern Munich, Juventus and Paris St Germain are also keen on the Chile frontman but his preference is to remain in the Premier League and join up with Pep Guardiola’s revolution at The Etihad and wants his future resolved in the August transfer window.

The Daily Mirror reports that Chelsea have not finished their summer spending spree yet and are poised to see Antonio Conte a further £150m to spend with the Italian keen on Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk. The Blues boss also wants Juventus full-back Alex Sandroand is keeping tabs on Inter Milan winger Antonio Cadreva

The Daily Mail reports that Roma have tabled a bid of £30m plus add-ons for Leicester attacker Riyad Mahrez. However, the Foxes are holding out for £50m for the Algeria international with Arsenal and Liverpool also keen on the 26-year-old frontman.

And finally, Turkish outfit Antalyaspor are keen on Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to the Daily Mirror. The Gunners turned down a bid of £7.5m from Sampdoria for Wilshere, who spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, but they are open to letting Wilshere leave the club for the right fee.
