Ghana consider CHAN 2018 host bid

Ghana is considering a bid for the 2018 Championship of Africa Nations after Kenya were stripped of the hosting rights for the event.

Deputy Sports Minister Pious Hadzide told TV3 Sports that they are looking into the possibly of putting in a bid before the deadline of October 1st. Ghanaian sports authorities are confident the country can put up a real show after hosting the 16 team West Africa Football Union Championship in Cape Coast and Elmina. CHAN, another 16-team competition for home based players will require more stadiums, training pitches and hotels and basically more infrastructure. Ghana is already billed to host the 2018 Africa Women Championship next year
