Vice-President donates 33-seater bus to St Augustine’s College

The Vice-President, who redeemed a pledge he made to the St Augustine’s College by providing the school with a 33-seater bus on Saturday at a short ceremony, reiterated government’s vision to make education one of its priority objectives.
The implementation of the Free SHS policy of the government, he said, attests to the importance it attaches to education as the game changer in the transformation agenda of the government.
The allocation of the bus to the school was in response to a request put before him during the 87th speech and prize-giving day of the school in March this year, where he was the guest speaker.
He was thankful to the administrator of the GETFUND and the Ghana Education Service for the valuable inputs in getting the bus for the school.
He charged the authorities of the school to utilise the bus for its intended purpose. 
The Headmaster of the school, Joseph Connel, was particularly grateful to the Vice-President for redeeming his promise.
He said the delivery of the bus was timely given that the only vehicle left in the school broke down a few days ago.
“It is a great pleasure to see that this promise has been fulfilled. We are grateful to the Vice-President and the President of the Republic and all well-wishers for supporting the school over the years.”
He praised government for the implementation of the Free SHS policy, adding that the policy, if sustained, will significantly transform the educational sector of the country and, ultimately, make Ghana a better place. 
He noted that the vehicle will go a long way to solve the transportation needs of the school. But like Oliver Twist, he requested that additional vehicles be allocated to the school to help its challenging transportation needs.
