ECG’s Philip Osei Bonsu reviews Kinaata’s Made in Taadi Concert

Public Relations Officer for Western Region’s Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Philip Osei Bonsu who attended the maiden edition of Kofi Kinaata’s Made in Taadi Concert has reviewed the arguably most patronized event in Sekondi-Takoradi this Yuletide.

Below is the review of the CEO of OBPR (unedited);

My review of the maiden #MadeInTaadi Concert @ the Jubilee Park, Takoradi.

1. Whoever brought the stage should be highly commended. The stage was probably the best thing about the entire concert. Elegant stage, fitted with very modern equipment. Sound quality was great. The stage also came with a comfortable waiting area for Artistes.

2. I have always been waiting for an outdoor event that will rival the Westside Carnival in terms of patronage(crowd), this was it.

3. The organizers did well in giving opportunity to a lot of Takoradi Artistes to perform on that big stage. Most of them put in very average performances. Very disappointing. Conspicuously missing though were Nhyiraba Kojo and SINGLET.

4. Ayes3m lived up to the hype with his performance. This was undoubtedly his best performance ever. Coming on stage with brass band and doing some hard core rap with the band was solid. He still has to work on his connection with the audience though.

5. Nero X was at his usual best. Of all the Takoradi artistes, he proved why he is still my best stage performer.

6. Snow B remains the Takoradi artiste with the most potential. Very talented and has got the looks to blossom in showbiz. Still has to work on his stage craft. His performance on the night was average.

7. Is Pappy Kojo known for doing these things on stage? Dude turned the jubilee park upside down. He did a lot to bond with the audience even though he has popular songs and could just have allowed the fans to do the singing. He was one of the best performers on that stage.

8. Kwaw Kese as usual is the people’s favorite. He’s got some really great songs for a crowd such as this. The fans kept singing along. But he was lost midway through the performance. Dude was not himself. He probably didn’t know where he was and what he was doing. Reason? Your guess is as good as mine.

9. Stonebwouy made it a memorable night. He headlined his own concert in Accra the night before but still made time to come. Great guy. He had to overcome an initial challenge at the start of his performance but he really moved the crowd, dishing out hits after hits.

10. Do I have words to describe Kofi Kinaata? Undoubtedly the Western Region’s biggest Artiste at the moment. He’s always in his elements when he performs at home and this was no exception. Kofi Kinaata has come of age and he can only get better.

11. Worst performer on the night was Afedzie Perry. Dude always comes on stage angry and that affects his performances. I have watched him perform about six times and the story is always the same. He’s talented though.

12. Now to the MCs; Too Much of Junka Town fame should not be on that stage next year. Dr. Pounds was great as usual. He always had something to excite the crowd.

13. DJ Kenny proved why he’s the most sought after DJ in the metropolis.

14. Nana Kwesi Coomson and the team must be commended for a job well done. That was good. The buzz was all over. They still have to work on the time. The concert ended at almost 5am. That’s unacceptable.

15. With the numbers I saw at the Jubilee Park, I’m still shocked why such a concert had NO sponsor(s).
