Too Deep (T.D.I.G.G.) reveals cover art, theme and concept behind his next release after months of silence

This is an unexpected one from T.D.I.G.G. (familiar as Too Deep), telling his story about situations he has been through in the past few months. Essentially, this song is an answer to all the rhetorical assumptions, speculations and scuttlebutts regarding the long silence pertaining to Deep Music.

Too Deep gives a summarized account on how his faith has been scarred, tried and tested in diverse ways, while he paints a vivid picture of memoirs. He explains how the situation has made him wiser and stronger in facing more battles to come on this journey of life with an unwavering hope in Jesus Christ.

He has also come to embrace and appreciate the magnitude of grace more and believes he has gained insight as to how to deal with persons within and outside the body who need restoration and love through the affirmation of GOD’s grace.

Too Deep is indeed one of the very few brothers within the body who views the body through the lens of pre-Christians (unsaved) or unbelievers, hence considered controversial. Too Deep explains the comparison of the life of JESUS CHRIST to modern day Christians, thereby drawing a conclusion that there’s so much work Christians need to do.

Most importantly, Too Deep expresses profound gratitude to his friends and family (some unmentioned) who stood with him and interceded on his behalf, while he was going through his wilderness. He also proclaims his forgiveness and love to those who castigated him and threw him into the lions’ den to suffer more. He is rather grateful after going through the wilderness and looking back at it all, because he believes without a shadow of doubt that it was all meant to prepare him to be the man of purpose whom GOD predestined him to be, and to impact lives, essentially.

(Psalm 71 : 21, 24 – “You shall increase my greatness and comfort me on every side…My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long; For they are confounded, For they are brought to shame; those who seek my hurt.”) – NKJV

The concept behind the cover art, as illustrated by Too Deep is the overruling of the law by GOD’s grace. The broken gavel depicts how GOD tampered justice (the law) with his mercy on behalf of Too Deep.

This song ties in with the storytelling journey off the eclectic body of work – This Path I Chose 3, which will be released later.

Father Figure

This goes out to my father – Joseph Kwasi Baisie, one proper and correct Fante man. Agya Bay, nts3 wala enim.

Verse 1:
Laying on my bed in the middle of the night, transcribing these heartfelt thoughts about a figure/ A good man, head of the home, most of all a true brother/ Never have you shunned away from your responsibilities, like none other/ True governance, with CHRIST as the center/ Sown seeds of love and selflessness to the helpless/ Your selflessness is effortless, even when you are pennyless/ Thinking less of yourself, your genuine love is true wealth/ I pray for you and your destiny helper, longer life and good health/ By far, my imperfections may not be a reflection of your perfections, but through it all you tell me it’s a lesson/ And that all I’ve been through on my journey are meant to shape me and make me the man GOD wants me to be to my generation – a blessing/ At the end of the dark tunnel is a blessing, and I get it/
Sigh! Because I’m still growing, and these experiences will jet it/

Verse 2:
Having a conversation with Aunty Trudy, I said to her you are to me, black Jesus/ The uncountable number of times you have forgiven my foolish ways/ Not only me, even more for people who you have no blood relation with/ To be honest, I’m trying my best to follow your examples and your ways/ But you know to whom much is given, much is expected, so I’ve had to deal with all these pressures/ You’ve set the bar so high, I’ve had to fail many times at keeping up/ Yet you still believe in me and assure me the best is yet to be accomplished/ You and mummy have had a really good marriage/ With the onus on me in that regard, I pray I do no damage/ I pray the pressure and self doubt do not lead to my defeat/ Because my dad sparked the fire, so I’m expected to keep it burning, if possible go higher/ They say give honour to whom honour is due/ Gratitude is a right attitude, so for being my hero, I give you the props that’s due you/

Verse 3:

This one’s for all the father figures, who take care of their own/ Do not shun from responsibility even when they don’t have the means/ I’m talking about all the GODly men who set GODly trends/ Apart from the man who walked the face of this Earth/ The very second man I hold in high esteem is my biological father/ It takes a lot to be a mother, but it takes wisdom to be a leader/ Not saying women are not wise, but men were made to lead/ I heard a rapper say a woman brings you into the world, but a man helps you stay in it/ You are an evidence, ‘cos I’m seeing it/ To every woman who has had to father your children alone to a woeful man/ To elder siblings who have also had to father in the absence of your father/ Let these words be the fuel to keep you stronger/
