I thought Ghanaians walked around naked and were living in the jungle – California based Artiste shares shocking thoughts about Ghana as a first-time visitor

Wilnisha Sutton, a California based Artiste and Activist who is popularly known in the United States of America (USA) as Truth (spelt Tru7h) has revealed that there are shocking perceptions about Africans amongst those who have not been in Africa before.

Speaking to Nana Kwesi Coomson on ‘Extensive Chat with NKC,’ Tru7h said “Before coming to Ghana, I thought Africans lived in the jungle and walked around with their genitals. This is what white America has shown us about Africa so until my sister came to Ghana for year abroad, I thought Africans walked about with their genitals and lived in the jungle.”

According to her, even though she doesn’t know where exactly in Africa she is from, she instinctively feels she is a Ghanaian and she sees the traits of Yaa Asantewa in her.
