Not even the breaking news of Ghana’s Oil Discovery could match the ecstatic feeling that was expressed by Sarkodie fans yesterday. 22nd May, 2012 will forever linger in the memory of many and will be scripted in the annals of Ghana’s showbiz calendar.
Invariably, when any Ghanaian consider boasting of a rapper from Ghana to compete globally, Sarkodie’s name becomes a must settled on. Experts from Black Entertainment Television (BET) could not have ended their nomination lists without recognizing the prolific achievements of Ghana’s Artist of The Year.
Michael Owusu Addo (Sarkodie) is in the BET nomination for the first time challenging Camp Mulla from Kenya, Choc City’s Ice Prince (Nigeria), South Africa’s Lira, Mokobe from Mali and Wizkid from Nigeria. The category, Best International Act; Africa, is seen by Team Sarkodie as a Ghanaian deserving category.
Since the announcement by the internationally recognized guru in the Showbiz industry (BET), many people, fans and non-fans alike have showered congratulatory messages on the tongue-twisting demon on all his contact; twitter, facebook, phone, email etc.
www.233times.net in a phone interview with Team Sarkodie asked how competitive they see the category. The team posited that, there is no competition, Sarkodie is deemed for the award and 1st July, 2012 would confirm it.
Samuel L Jackson, hosts the night with Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown performing first.
www.233times.net congratulates the Best Talent Ghana has ever come across, for putting the flag of Ghana on the globe with his spectacular talent.
