Narrating the incident to The Finder, Richard Boateng said his room was next to the room occupied by the owner of the house and wife; in all, there were nine occupants in the house that day.
It includes three children, three visitors, the couple and Richard Boateng.
According to him, he heard the robbers asking the couple – Mr Charles Kwame Omari and Philomena Henaku – to give them money and gold.
He said Omari told them that there was no gold in the house, so they took GH¢12,000 in that room.
He stated that the visitors, who were lodging in one room, also said the robbers took away GH¢4,500.
The robbers, he said, came to his room and collected GH¢450 that he had on him and took his laptop computer, in addition to four mobile phones that they took from other occupants of the house.
Boateng said the robbers assaulted Philomena Henaku, who attempted making noise when the robbers entered their room. The robbers also took her wedding ring away.
According to him, one of the children who looked at the robbers when they entered their room was also beaten.
Boateng stated that while escaping, the robbers took the keys of the two vehicles in the house with them but dropped the keys at the gate before departing.
