Composer of popular songs like ‘Asomdwoe Hene,’ ‘Jesus’, ‘Manye Yie,’ among others, Jewel Ackah has passed away.
The Highlife legend has been battling stroke for more than 10 years, reliable sources tell www.233times.net.
He died on Friday 27th April, 2018 around 7pm, a family source told www.233times.net.
Jewel Ackah was one of the Artistes who trace their roots from the Western Region and amongst those who popularized highlife music in the 1980’s and 199’0s. He started singing Highlife and later shifted to gospel music in the late 1990’s.
He is also the composer of the popular party anthem for the National Democratic Congress (NDC)
