The administration of the Ghana Police Service has announced it will cost candidates who went through their recent selection exercise for enlistment into the Ghana Police Service as general recruits ¢400.00 for a medical examination scheduled to start Monday, June 25.

Even though it is not readily known what exactly the fee covers, details of the cost is expected to be communicated to the candidates when they report at the Police Hospital for the medical screening.

A statement from the Police indicates “all qualified applicants are being notified through SMS and e-mail addresses provided”.

“The first batch of 2000 applicants who qualified for the medical screening will be put in groups of 250 for screening at the Police Hospital, Accra each day.

“Applicants notified for each day of the screening will be required to report at the Police Headquarters, near the Ghana National Fire Service Headquarters on the Ring Road, Accra before they proceed to the Police Hospital”, it added.

Qualified applicants have also been asked to bring with them  academic or professional certificates, birth certificates, voter ID card or any other document for identification.

They are however to “note that they will be responsible for their own accommodation and feeding” and also to come with their parents, guardians or other relations.

The screening will end Thursday, July 5.
