Anas Video: FIFA Approves On Government Moves To Fight Illegality

FIFA has given the government of Ghana the go ahead to use its national laws to fight criminal conduct and illegality in the Ghana Football Association.

This was made known after a meeting between the government of Ghana and FIFA officials to resolve the current crises that has bedeviled the Ghana Football Association following the corruption expose by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

A statement by the Information Minister Mustapha Hamid moments after the meeting said FIFA in consultation with the Ghanaian government will also put in place interim measures to allow for the continuation of football in Ghana.

Hamid also stated that Ghana government delegation will continue discussions with FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland for the purpose of finalizing interim arrangements regarding Ghana’s football.

GOVERNMENT OF GHANA DELEGATION MEETS WITH FIFA

A delegation of the government of Ghana had a fruitful first meeting with representatives of the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) in Accra on the 22nd June of 2018, from the deliberations, it was agreed as follows:

1. Both FIFA and the Ghanaian government have a zero tolerance for corruption, criminality and all other forms of illegality.

2 The government of Ghana has the right to enforce its national laws against criminal conduct and illegality.

3. FIFA in consultation with the Ghanaian government will put in place interim measures to allow for the continuation of football in Ghana.

4. The Ghana government delegation will continue discussions with FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland for the purpose of finalizing interim arrangements regarding football in Ghana.
