President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has dismissed claims from opposition members that his government is taking credit for projects started by the previous John Mahama administration.
Commissioning the Anloga Shopping Center in the Volta region as part of his three-day tour of the region, the president said he is not stealing NDC policies but completing Ghana projects for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
“We’re here today to commission the Anloga shopping center. Phase one of that project began in the era of the NDC government and phase two was began and completed in the NPP era.
“If you remember, when we were campaigning, I said that if by the grace of God, the Ghanaian people were to give me their confidence and I was to come in, I would make sure that whatever was started by my predecessor, I’ll complete it and that is exactly what is happening. I’m not stealing NDC policies, I’m completing Ghanaian projects.”
The Gh¢2.5 million facility, which comprises, 26 shops, two banking halls, a cafeteria and other ancillary facilities, was started under the erstwhile Mahama government and completed by the present administration.
The president added that his government was committed to completing projects started by the NDC administration.
The President as part of his tour also commissioned the ‘Courage Quarshigah’ Memorial hostel for the Keta Nursing and Midwifery Training College.
The hostel, valued at more than Gh¢500,000 would accommodate 100 out of the about 500 students of the school.
