An Accra Circuit Court on Tuesday sentenced Kwesi Botchwey a 22-year-old baker and a trader to ten years imprisonment in hard labour for having sex with a 15-year-old girl at Kotobabi a suburb of Accra.
This was after Botchwey had been found guilty on the charge of defilement at the end of the trial by the court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku.
The case of prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)
Agnes Boafo was that Botchwey resides at Alajo, Accra; whilst the complainant resides at Kotobabi Down, Accra.
On August 8, 2017, at about 22:30 hours the victim was on her way to her grandmother’s house at Accra New Town when Botchwey met her and proposed to her.

After the act, prosecution said the convict boarded a car for the victim to transport her home.
The victim on reaching home narrated her ordeal to the complainant who in turn reported the matter to the Police and Botchwey was arrested.
