Bawumia departs Saudi Arabia after performing Hajj

Vice President of Ghana Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has departed the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah today after performing the Hajj rituals.

According to a statement issued by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Bawumia was seen off at King Abdulaziz International Airport by Saudi Prince Mishaal bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jeddah Province, and a number of officials.

Bawumia and his wife Samira Bawumia joined thousands of Ghanaians and millions of Muslims from around the world to perform this year’s Hajj.

The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and fulfils one of the conditions for total submission to the will of Allah.

Before he embarked on the pilgrimage, the office of Dr Bawumia said the Vice President will use the spiritual exercise to among others pray for the people and nation of Ghana and request Allah’s blessings for Ghana.
