Award-winning Ghanaian rapper Micheal Owusu Addo popularly Known as Sarkodie has said his maiden reception in Nigeria was worse as compared to what his colleagues experienced in the West African nation recently.
The disclosure comes on the back of the cold attitude Nigerians gave to Ghanaians musicians while they were performing on stage during the official launch of Menzgold in Nigeria.
“For my first 2, 3 times, I nearly said I will not go to Nigeria again. They are like that, even what you guys saw (during the official launch of Menzgold in Nigeria) was good,” he said on Accra-based Hitz FM.
According to the rapper, the Nigerians have a system that is controlled so the industry may know an artiste but it is not easy for the people to know the same artiste.
“If your song is played once, it doesn’t mean the people will know it, but if it’s been rotated, that’s when the people will know it so they don’t do that, in their clubs, on the TV and radio.” He added.
